Your Hospice Team
hospice services

When you receive services from Hospice of Texas, you receive care from an entire team of professionals dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. Our team consists of:
  • Physicians who have a comprehensive understanding of end of life care, pain, and symptom control. Our medical director will work with your personal physician to develop a plan of care to meet to your needs.
  • Registered nurses who are trained and qualified to recognize the specific needs of our patients. They are experienced in developing and managing a individualized plan of care for each patient, staying focused on the patient’s needs, and providing compassionate care for the entire family.
  • Social workers with Hospice of Texas coordinate community resources as needed, and will assist the patient and their family with non-medical concerns. They can assist with making financial arrangements, funeral planning, and provide emotional comfort and support for family members.
  • Our chaplain will work with our patients and their families to help them cope with spiritual concerns that often arise during difficult times, and will coordinate their spiritual care with the patients’ and families’ spiritual counselors.
  • Certified nurses aids are valuable members of our team. They provide personal care to our patients, such as bathing and assistance with the patients’ activities of daily living.
  • Bereavement coordinators are available throughout our patients’ journey to help our patients as they grieve leaving their families and for families as they grieve the loss of their loved one.
  • Volunteers at Hospice of Texas are available to provide companionship, and provide emotional support for patients and their families.
