Dear Mr. Belle-Isle
I wish to express my gratitude to the WONDERFUL staff at Hospice of Texas. I was truly blessed to be able to be with my mother who was in her final days of hospice care. In my two weeks with her, I was able to observe, up close and personal, the tender hands and hearts of the hospice team who made it appear to me, that my mother was their only patient. In all my years of recruiting for the medical field, I don’t think I have ever seen so clearly, the fruits of good recruiting work as I did with your staff. The many avenues of expertise required to perform in the delicate profession of hospice came to life for me profoundly, and in a very personal manner. Reviewing the list of essentials of basic interviewing is fundamental in the process of identifying the right person for the right job. But when you are hiring for a position in hospice, the intangible character traits are imperative for placing those with the right hearts in these important jobs. Your patients, as well as their family members, can be assured that your healthcare professionals are not only medically competent, but also love their work and truly care about the many needs of their patients. I watched as your nurses put their faces close to my mother’s to whisper their plans to reposition her, so as not to startle or confuse her. I heard the endearing names your staff used when addressing my mother, their heartfelt, warm morning greetings, and their constant compliments of her beauty, convinced me that my wonderful mother was being cared for by the right people. Personally, I was very grateful that Hospice of Texas had identified a team with such loving hands and hearts for so delicate a task. Please accept my heartfelt thanks, as well as that of my family, for your concern for my mother’s dignity and your never-ending attention to her comfort. May GOD continue to bless your staff as they minister in a loving way to those of HIS children who are in need of their care. Sincerely, Ellyn Wiley Hurricane Rita brought devastation and destruction to many in our area. My mother, Lucille Minton, had been under Hospice of care since July of hits year. After living through two evacuations, mother came home to die. Hospice of Texas continued to provide care, compassion, and concern as her health declined. Mother's nurse, Annette Collins, her social worker, Lela Goins, and Chaplain Warren Wargo were extremely supportive throughout the final stages of her illness. Also, other staff member were there \in the middle of the night when I had to call for reassurance and advice. Beaumont should be proud of Hospice of Texas for having such a dedicated group of people. Sharon Burke "Hospice provided a God sent service to my mother. The staff are the most caring group of people. I am truly grateful for everything hospice provided me and my entire family." "As a disabled person trying to care for my terminally ill mother, Hospice of Texas is a ‘God-send’. Even the baths helped us tremendously. Thank you with all my heart. Not to mention my 84 year old stepfather has been in a nursing home for 2 years and had been under hospice care the last few months. The nurses would see him before coming to our house to care for mother so they were able to give us a daily report on him. It became impossible for me to go to the nursing home as often as I wanted to, so the hospice nurses were good surrogates for me. Mrs. Tonya also made his final 2 days of dying less stressful for mom and I both. He just passed away last weekend 6-5-05. Thanks again." "I couldn’t have been more pleased with the care my mother received. Tonya was wonderful in managing Mom’s care. Leslie did an impeccable job with Mom’s personal care. I’d like to thank you for keeping Mom as comfortable as possible the last month of her life." "Often times my sister was a difficult patient. They did a remarkable effort to do their work with her and still allow her some dignity and privacy that she demanded." "You have very caring and efficient staff – I was pleased and relieved at the quality of care – I loved my brother so much and it was helpful to have you – Thank You!" |
